WICKER PARK ROW HOUSE
This project is a gut rehab and addition to a historic 19th century Wicker Park rowhouse. While the front exterior façade was restored, a clean-lined but sensitive addition was added to the back. The interior was transformed from an outdated space into a beautiful, bright, and fresh contemporary home. Removing the partition walls between the stair hall and living spaces creates a much more spacious Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen. It also allows for natural light from the newly added rear windows and the front bay windows to flood the entire first floor. A refreshing, crisp color palette with predominantly white walls, natural accents and dark, bold windows accentuates the transparency and airiness of the well-lit interior.
Stand-out architectural features include the new stairway with its modernly minimal design and delicate traditional elements. The Kitchen features minimally detailed cabinetry, open shelving and a hidden range hood. The split-level terrace successfully and brilliantly transitions the interior to the exterior.
A few photographs of the existing interior can be found at the end of the image reel.
